A church for the trending youth

Mars Hill @ Roodepoort is a church that has unique futures to help accommodate today’s generation.

The church aims to reach the age group that is mostly not found in church on Sundays, namely those between the ages of 18 and about 37 years. It’s a multi-racial church and is pastored by Rupert September and Amien Lincoln.

“We have many unique futures, one of which is that our services start at 3pm every Sunday.

This is to help those who cannot wake up early on a Sunday morning and it also provides for those who wish to cook, do washing and shopping before coming to church,” said Rupert.

At the end of each church service they have a question and answer session about the teaching of the day and any other biblical questions. “We also have a distinctive way of singing because we value it. We want to teach the congregation not to worship the pastors, but to worship God,” said Lincoln.

Mars Hill @ Roodepoort shares the Gereformeerde Kerk Ontdekkers-Noord building, situated on the corner of Philips Avenue and Teater Street, Florida Park, Roodepoort, 1709.
