Update: Parents confirm ‘allegedly kidnapped’ child is safe
Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch still waiting for confirmation.
Although the post has been shared numerous times, the Record has confirmation from the parents of the boy involved that he is safe and that it was not a kidnapping situation.
The family gave an alternate explanation, which the Record prefers not to share.

The family is appealing to the public to no longer share the post. The Record wants to make it clear that it did state ‘alleged kidnapping’. We felt that it was better to publish the articles in case it was a real kidnapping than let time pass and allow the chances of finding a kidnapped child to be diminished.
