School children rushed to hospital following accident on Christiaan de Wet

The vehicles are still on the scene and traffic flow is affected.

A group of school children were rushed to hospital following an accident earlier this morning.

The children were transported in a Toyota Avanza en route to school when they collided with a Hyundai i30.

The collision occurred at the Christiaan de Wet Road and Clarendon Drive intersection.

It is believed the driver of the Hyundai i30 was travelling in the direction of the Florida KFC while it is believed the Toyota Avanza was turning right onto Christiaan de Wet. It was at this point when the two vehicles collided.

The Toyota Avanza came to a halt against an electricity post while the Hyundai i30 came to a stop at the entrance to the Total garage.

It is unknown at this stage how many children were involved and to what extent they were injured.
