Public review period postponed

A 30-day comment period will still be available

The public participation process for the West Wits Mining project has been postponed.

The mining company has released a press statement stating that the Basic Assessment Report (BARs), including an Environmental Management Programme Report (EMPr) that form part of the two mining permit applications, namely those for Kimberley West (Sol Plaatjes) and Cresswell Park, will be available at the specified venues at a later date.

The purpose of the BARs is to summarise the BA process followed to date, provide an overview of the proposed project and the affected environment, present the assessment of the potential impacts and set out the recommended mitigation measures.

The BARs will be made available for a 30-day comment period to be announced next week.

However, should you wish to obtain an electronic or CD copy of the BAR, send your request to projects@malanscholesconsulting.co.za.
