Sparrow appealing to the community to help them change lives

‘Your donation can help us to continue our good work’

“Your donation can help to secure a child’s future and give them a chance in life,” said Reverend Doctor Corinne McClintock.

For the past 28 years, Sparrow Ministry of Health has been changing lives by providing unconditional care to those in need.

The non-profit organisation, which is free to all, was founded by Corinne, who wanted to make a difference and provide a shelter to destitute mothers and children whose lives were affected by HIV and Aids.

The organisation relies solely on the goodwill of the community to help them with this huge task, and with the continued support and donations from the community, they have been able to to continue to provide food, shelter and care to those in their care.

“Your donations have also enabled us to establish – and sustain – our outreach programme in surrounding areas where people are struggling to survive,” Corinne said.

She added that the organisation is now in urgent need of financial help, and explained, “The children who are returning to Sparrow no longer fall under the Children’s Act, which means we must now care for them. In order to do this, we need about R50 000,” she said.

They provide an Aids Hospice, care for adults and children, home-based care, education, training and counselling.

In order to make a positive change, she is asking the community to consider making a contribution – one you feel comfortable with – to the Village, and said, “We are registered with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) under Section 18A, and can supply any contributor with a Section 18A certificate.

Their banking details are: Sparrow Ministry of Help, First National Bank Westgate, account number 5492005087, branch code 250841. The swift code for international donors is FIRNZAJJ44.
