One killed and one wounded in Roodepoort shooting
Exact circumstances surrounding incident not known
One person was killed, and another injured in a shooting incident at the Roodepoort taxi rank yesterday evening (24 May).
Netcare 911 responded to the call-out at approximately 6.27pm. Paramedics attended to a 31-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman who had both sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
“Unfortunately, the male sustained fatal injuries, and was declared dead on the scene. Documentation pertaining to his death was completed and handed over to authorities at the scene.
The woman was assessed and found to have sustained a gunshot wound to the left hip; thankfully she was not in a critical condition. She was treated and stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital for further medical care,” said Tebogo Magoro, spokesperson for Netcare 911.

The exact details surrounding the incident are unknown, but local authorities were on scene and further investigations will be conducted.
