Her 16-year-old son and his two sisters were walking to Hoërskool Bastion at about 7am when the incident took place. When they got to the stop street opposite Usave, the driver of a vehicle indicated that they could continue crossing the road, but then a woman driving a red VW Polo came speeding around the corner from the direction of the school and hit the boy. His ribs and feet were injured and the vehicle also drove over his sister’s foot. The mirror on the left side of the Polo broke off due to the impact.
