SPCA in need of food and blankets

'We are in need of dog and cat food, as well as blankets'

The Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA is in desperate need of the community’s help.

“We are pleading with the community to help us with dog and cat food, as well as blankets, as we are running very low,” said Mandy Cattanach, manager of the SPCA.

She said that any brand of cat or dog food would be welcome. “We prefer to use the sachets of cat and kitten food, to ensure we do not waste any food, and any dog food will be appreciated,” she said.

They are also in need of blankets for the kennels. Mandy explained, “The storm blankets that are available at Jet, Ackermans or Pep Stores usually last the longest. Carpeting would also be great, but not underfelt.”

Donations can be dropped off at the SPCA, situated at 3 Nadine Street, Florida. Alternatively, they can be dropped off at the Record’s offices, on the corner of Generaal Pienaar Avenue and Ham Street, Witpoortjie.
