Child critical after accident

Paramedics treated the boy and provided him with advanced life support interventions.

A boy, believed to be 12 years old, was left critically injured yesterday when he was knocked over by a light motor vehicle at the intersection of Commando and Springbok Roads in Industria, near Maraisburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 3pm to find other services already in attendance.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics found that the boy had sustained serious injuries, leaving him in a critical condition. They treated the boy and provided him with advanced life support interventions before he was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter to Mediclinic Sandton for urgent treatment.

The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
