24Seven gymnasts bring home silverware

Seven medals at inter-club competition

 

Gymnasts from the 24Seven Gymnastics and Trampoline Club recently participated in the Klim Gim Inter-club Competition and did very well.

The club’s coach, Luitha Roux, explained that it was the first time the gymnasts competed on the double mini-trampoline, and said, “We had nine participants from our club, and they won three gold medals, one silver medal, three bronze medals and a fourth and fifth place.”

Three of the gymnasts received a special mention from Luitha, who said, “JT Roux, who is only five years old, competed on Level 3, and managed to win two gold medals. Luan van den Berg and Mark George Taylor participated in their first competition, and Luan won two gold medals. Mark George achieved a seventh place, and a gold medal.”

The other gymnasts who won medals in their various categories, were:

– JC Roux (two bronze medals)

– JP Roux (one bronze medal)

– Liam Blake (two gold medals)

– Diané Kriek (one silver medal)

– Duncan Schlebusch (two gold medals)

– Christo van der Walt (one gold and one bronze medal)

She added that she was extremely proud of her gymnasts, and was impressed with their performance. “It is performances like these that make me very positive for the future. I believe the gymnasts can only get better from here,” she concluded.
