Jozi Youth Dancers to perform at the Roodepoort Theatre

Domaine set to wow audiences

The stage at the Roodepoort Theatre will be filled with young dancers, ready to wow their audiences.

The Jozi Youth Dance Company (JYDC) will be presenting their fourth annual production, titled Domaine, from 19 to 22 April, and it promises to be unforgettable.

The dancers will involve the audience, taking them on a journey through different worlds, stepping seamlessly from one existence to the next.

Domaine, the largest and most spectacular of shows produced by JYDC is guaranteed to set the stage on fire. “This year, we have the most magnificent line-up of choreographers, each bringing their own distinct personality to the stage,” said Jayd Swart, director of JYDC.

Jozi Youth Dance Company is a one of a kind platform for young dancers, exposing them to professional choreographers and dancers. They gain invaluable experience, performing to sold-out audiences, preparing them for the cut-throat dance industry.

“Young dancers need to be given the opportunity to show what they are capable of. We train them in both technique and expression and motivate them to achieve new heights while preparing them for a future in dance, said Jayd.

JYDC has opened up many doors for company members, including a

training tour to South Korea in 2017. This year, the production forms part of the Grahamstown National Arts Festival line-up.
