JEMS issues winter safety tips

Children should never be left around candles without adult supervision.

Johannesburg Emergency Services Management (JEMS) has thanked residents for their cooperation during the cold weather of the weekend of 16 to 18 March.

“JEMS would like to thank all the residents of the City of Johannesburg for ensuring that no major incidents relating to the cold and wet weather conditions were reported during the weekend. We have proved that together we can create safer communities throughout the City. Residents are encouraged to continue to look after any heating devices, and not to leave them unattended to prevent fire incidents at home,” said spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi.
