Police urges JCPZ to act at cemetery

Cemetery a crime hot spot.

The Record has obtained a document in which the police urge Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ) to assist them in eradicating crime at the Roodepoort Cemetery.

In the document, the police state the following: “This office has identified Roodepoort Cemetery as a hot spot for various crimes including rape and armed robberies. It is suggested that JCPZ can play a big role to curb these crimes by warning innocent people using the cemetery.

It will be appreciated if your office gives this matter urgent attention”.

It is uncertain exactly how JCPZ will address the issue.
