While we are shocked and concerned about the recent terrible dog attack, and pray for the complete recovery of the young woman concerned, it was only a matter of time before something of this nature was bound to occur.
On a daily basis, I see people walking dogs and deliberately allowing them to antagonise and even attack dogs that are behind secure gates. My neighbour’s dog was recently attacked in this way, and was severely mauled around the head and jaws.
I also see people who have little control over their animals walking large dogs. Please people, use common sense, and try to walk routes where your dog does not antagonise other people’s pets. I have also never seen people walking dogs clean up when their animals pollute someone else’s property.
I suggest that every pet owner makes him-/ herself aware of the municipal by-laws concerning animals.
