The Johannesburg Police Rugby Club (Bobbies) will host their first official home game at their new home ground on 24 February.
Bobbies will be hosting Pirates Rugby Club at Hoërskool Die Burger, and the first game will kick off at 1pm. “As always, these games promise to be very exciting. The players have huge respect for each other,” said Jason du Toit, Bobbies’ chairman.
He added that they are planning a big day of rugby and urge the community to join them on the day to offer support.
“Because women’s rugby has recently become a high priority for the Union, we will also have three women’s games on display as well,” said Jason.
Eight games will be played on the day. The following matches will be played on the A-field:
– Soweto Eagles 1 vs Correctional Services Knights (women) at 1pm
– SAPS Gauteng vs Pirates 4 at 2.10pm
– Bobbies 3 vs Pirates 3 at 3.20pm
– Bobbies 2 vs Pirates 2 at 4.30pm
– SAPS Gauteng vs Pirates (women) at 6pm
– Bobbies 1 vs Pirates 1 at 7.10pm
Two matches will be played on the B-field:
– Wanderers vs Soweto Eagles 2 (women) at 2.10pm
– Bobbies Juniors vs Pirates Juniors at 3.20pm
