Donations to the SPCA can help you too

Donating to the SPCA can lighten your tax burden

Did you know that when you donate to the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA, you can lighten your tax burden?

As the end of the current tax year is drawing closer, the SPCA team is urging you to help them to help more animals, by donating before 28 February. “But, how does that help to lighten my tax burden?” you may ask.

The answer is simple. For every donation made to the organisation a Section 18A certificate can be requested. “When you donate, make sure that you request and obtain the Section 18A certificate.

This certificate, which applies to individuals and businesses, needs to be submitted with your tax return and then you will qualify for tax relief,” explained Christine Kuch, the SPCA Public Relations Officer.

She added that the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA has been confirmed on the South African Revenue Services website as a Section 18A Public Benefit Organisation.

There are various ways to donate to the SPCA, including via EFT as well as at the SPCA itself during normal operating hours. “When donating at the SPCA itself, do not forget to request your certificate,” Christine said.

The banking details for EFTs are Standard Bank Florida, account number 021145571, branch code 015641. “Proof of payment can be emailed to admin@rdptspca.co.za or faxed to 011 672 2918. A certificate, as well as a message of thanks, will be sent to you,” she said.

She concluded by saying, “Let’s make the end of this tax year a good one for the animals and at the same time help donors to lighten their inevitable tax burden”.

For any additional information, or queries, contact the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA on 011 672 0448 or at pr@rdptspca.co.za.
