Water pump failure affecting Florida residents

Technicians investigating cause of failure

An unplanned water outage has resulted in residents from Florida, Maraisburg and Delarey being left without water.

According to Johannesburg Water (JW), a failure on the pump at the Florida pump station has left the Florida North Tower empty, affecting water supply to residents in the following areas:

• Florida View

• Florida North

• Florida Glen

• Florida

• Florida Hills

• Maraisburg

• Delarey

Water tankers will be available at the following locations:

• Florida High School,
• Flora Centre
• Corner of Jan Smuts Drive and Daniel Malan Avenue,
• Dan Pienaar Road at William Conradie Park
• Alexander Street at Van der Hoven Park
• Madeline Street at Dan Pienaar park

The tanks at Life Flora Hospital will be refilled.

Residents are assured that JW technicians are already on site investigating the cause of the failure and as soon as more information is known, it will be passed on.

JW added that water tankers, and a list of their locations, will be supplied as soon as it is available.
