Horror accident on Doreen Road leaves four injured

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known.

Four people were left injured on Friday evening (13 October) following a head-on collision between two light motor vehicles on Doreen Road in Poortview.

At approximately 8.10pm ER24 paramedics, along with other services, found both wrecked vehicles in the middle of the road. Paramedics discovered two men, both in their 20s, lying inside one of the light motor vehicles. A man, woman and child were found in the second vehicle.

One of the men sustained critical injuries while the other had serious injuries. The woman and child in the other vehicle were assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries. The man who was with them, fortunately, escaped injury.

The victims were carefully extricated from the vehicle and treated. The critically injured was provided with advanced life-support interventions and airlifted by a private medical helicopter while the remaining victims were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals.

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
