Hoo Hoo Fest to raise funds

Join Florida Blockwatch's fundraising event

The Florida Blockwatch will be hosting a fundraising day and is urging the community to support them.

“The aim of this day is to raise money to buy CCTV cameras for our area. These cameras will be monitored by a security company, enabling us to ensure our residents are safe.

Unfortunately, one camera costs about R26 000, and that is why we decided to host this event,” said Denise Pretorius, the Florida Blockwatch chairperson.

The Hoo Hoo Fest will take place on 28 October from 9am to 3pm at Trezona Park on the corner of Jan Smuts Drive and Jan Hofmeyr Avenue, Florida Park, and there will be something for everyone’s taste.

There will be a huge variety of food and craft stalls, community members can play Bingo and take part in a myriad other activities or participate in the Potjiekos competition. One lucky festival-goer will win a Harley Davidson bike too!

Denise promised that nobody will be disappointed, as there will be a lot of things to do and experience. “Residents will also have the opportunity to get to know the emergency service members, police members as well as the security companies that we work closely with,” she said.

For more information or to book a stall, contact Leandra on 084 451 4548, Henriëtte on 071 252 0207 or Denise on 061 452 9770.
