Celebrate being a strong woman

Florida resident hosting a women's event

“I have undertaken to host parties for us (women) just to share love and testimonies and to encourage, inspire and be a blessing to one another,” said Val Moonsamy.

She is a Florida resident and is the leader of a prayer group called Hope, Prayer, Healing. “My aim is to inspire hope through prayer to receive healing by believing. My passion and desire is to encourage, inspire and pray for women from all walks of life. I also want to instill the belief in all of us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made – each one a masterpiece,” she said.

She will be hosting the first event, called ‘Celebrate being a strong woman’ on 4 November at Westview Clinic, 9 Madeline Street, Florida. “The event will be in the form of a tea party and will start at 11 am. This will be a bring and share party, as I do not have any funding and am doing this all on my own,” Val said.

There will be three speakers on the day, covering topics such as being alert to signs of drug and alcohol abuse (Anthia Barriel), how tough it is to be a strong woman (Saphney Litchman) and human trafficking awareness (Thami Ntimbane).

“I would love to do this on a regular basis, but would need support,” she said.
