Funding helps soccer growth
Soccer tournament to focus on young talent
School holidays are in full swing and to keep the youth busy, a soccer tournament took place at the Davidsonville Sports Stadium. Teams from around the Roodepoort area were invited to attend the tournament which was sponsored by the National Lottery Fund. The foundation sponsored teams with soccer kit, which included team outfits, shin guards and soccer balls. The tournament was hosted to showcase local talent.
Tournament organiser Theo van Rensburg was happy with the quality of the matches and was a spectator at each match.
“We’d like to thank the Lotto for granting us sponsorship and the ability to host such a tournament,” he said.
