Hijacking in Helderkruin

Suspects dumped the vehicle.

Last night (14 September) at about 10pm a resident’s vehicle was hijacked on Gail Street in Helderkruin.

It is uncertain whether the victim was arriving at or leaving his home when the four armed suspects in a white BMW 125 series hijacked the vehicle. The vehicle’s tracking system was activated and the signal was picked up near Westgate Shopping Centre. Members of the CPF, BCI Security’s K9 Unit and Dowry Security’s High Risk Unit rushed to the location, but the vehicle was already on its way towards Krugersdorp.

They continued to pursue it and with the help of Netstar’s tracking ground crew the vehicle was found abandoned in Kagiso.

One shot was allegedly fired during the hijacking but no one was injured.
