Roodepoort Police illegal mining op yields success
One suspect arrested for dagga as well.
Yesterday morning (6 September) Roodepoort Police arrested 11 suspects during an operation against illegal mining.
The operation took place at about 9am in Sol Plaatjies. Ten of the suspects were zama-zamas (illegal miners), while the eleventh man was arrested for possession of dagga. Two containers were also confiscated – one containing a chemical solution and the other gold dust.

The suspects were detained at the Roodepoort Police Station.
