The many facets of being beautiful

"There will always be a heart – and a helping hand – to assist"

“The event was simply titled ‘Beautiful’, and everything happening here tonight complements this theme,” said Lavonné Fairweather.

She is the owner of and a trainer at a fitness studio in Wilro Park and is also a member of Woman of Stature (WOS).

Mari Basson and Alta Luus.

WOS provides a platform that empowers women to live with purpose, and it was because of this motto that Lavonné decided to host a special event catering especially for women.

Lavonné made sure that the women received something for the mind, body and soul by providing some delicious treats, a motivational speaker and various displays of jewellery, make-up, linen and much more.

Eleanore Jannetti from Honey Fashion Accessories.

“I invited women with their own business ventures to be part of the event, to give them an opportunity to showcase their products. That way I am able to help them promote their various businesses,” she said.

But, for Lavonné, empowering women is so much more than just catering for physical beauty – you have to look after the heart as well. “I believe that any women experiencing difficulties in her life just needs someone to see what is going on in her heart. It is easy to say you want to empower women through doing this or doing that, but sometimes they only need to hear that there is a hand offering help,” she said.

She added that she believed the time was right to reach out into the community, to connect and bring people together to her studio where they can be sure to always find a heart and a warm helping hand offering comfort and assistance.

Auret Fowie and Zelda Kruger.

The guest speaker for the evening was Charlotte du Plessis, the founder and Managing Director of WOS. “Tonight I am here to help Lavonné showcase her business, but I am also here to do a motivational talk on the inner beauty every woman possesses. I will use the opportunity teach them how to reach their full potential,” Charlotte said.

She concluded by saying, “I believe that every woman is capable of reaching great heights and achieving her greater purpose in life through perseverance, commitment and dedication.”
