One of Gauteng’s biggest marathons have been cancelled due to a lack of sponsorship. The 50 kilometres City to City marathon, which was due to take place on 24 September, would have been run from Johannesburg to Pretoria. The announcement was made by Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA).
In a statement, Mandla Radebe said their efforts over the past few months to secure a sponsor have not been successful.
“A lack of sponsorship means that CGA has no choice but to cancel this prestigious race. In an effort to bring it back, we urge all corporates and corporate clubs to assist CGA in this regard.”
