Pelser: Case postponed

For the umpteenth time the case had to be postponed, this time due to his advocate being ill.

Marthinus Pelser, the 22-year-old who stands accused of having murdered his six-month-old baby, appeared in the Roodepoort Regional Court again this morning (11 July).

For the umpteenth time the case had to be postponed, this time due to his advocate being ill. It is believed the trial date will also be moved. The trial was supposed to start on 11 September but Pelser requested legal aid from the state so time after the trial date was set. This means that the new defence team will need more time to familiarise themselves with the case and prepare a defence.
