A step closer to the crown

Lerato Moyo is a Top 25 Mrs South Africa Finalist

“The journey towards Mrs South Africa 2018 continues, and I need to work much harder to realise my dream of wearing the crown.”

Lerato Moyo has been selected as one of the Top 25 Mrs South Africa finalists, and she is the only finalist from the Roodepoort area who is still in the race for top honours. “I am available to support my community in any way that may be required from me, but especially through giving motivational talks on the empowerment of women,” she said.

She was selected as a Top 25 finalist during the gala evening held in April. “This was a great achievement for me as this year’s pageant received the most entries in its history,” said Lerato.

According to Lerato, her Mrs South Africa journey has been truly amazing so far, but was not without challenges. “I was pushed outside of my comfort zone but it only resulted in tremendous physical and emotional growth for which I am truly thankful. I have had the opportunity to get to know some beautiful women who are willing to drop everything and support a sister. This sisterhood has really proven the saying ‘Girls compete but women empower each other’,” she said, smiling.

For Lerato to continue her journey to be crowned as Mrs South Africa, she is in need of a sponsor to walk the road with her. “This sponsor would enjoy the benefits of advertising on the Mrs South Africa platform. Should there be a corporate who would like to partner with me, feel free to send me an email onleratomoyo21@gmail.com,” Lerato said.

The Top 25 finalists will be required to host fundraising events to raise money for the pageant’s main charity which is the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa), and Lerato is very excited about executing a successful fundraising event. “Provisionally, I will host my event on 29 July and more information will follow in due course,” she said.

The Grand Finale, where Mrs South Africa will be crowned, will take place at Emperor’s Palace on 6 October, and tickets will be available from Computicket. Lerato is urging community members to vote for her by SMS’ing “Lerato Moyo” to 3959 or by liking the Mrs South Africa Facebook page. “After liking the Mrs SA page, you can vote by liking my official photo as well,” she said.

She concluded by saying, “It is an absolute honour to be in The top 25, and I feel so blessed and grateful for all the support I have received from all my family, friends and the community. Please continue to support me.”
