National Go Barefoot Day

Kick off your shoes on #NationalGoBarefootDay

1 June is annually observed as National Go Barefoot Day, the perfect opportunity to kick off your shoes and run barefoot through the cool grass!

But, more importantly, it is a day to help support a charity that provides millions of underprivileged children worldwide with shoes.

National Go Barefoot Day was created by the people at Soles4Souls and the holiday got its start after the start of the tsunami disaster of 2004 in an attempt to support those affected. However, donations continued to come in and more than 19 million of pairs of shoes have been donated across the globe since 2005.

Celebrate today by cleaning out your closets and donating a pair or two of gently used shoes to a charitable organisation in your area.

Use #NationalGoBarefootDay to post on social media.
