Dorcas still giving a helping hand

Help keep your fellow man warm

It may not be winter just yet but the cold mornings and evenings remind us that it’s just around the corner. While the majority of us can rely on a heater or a cup of warm soup, there are still thousands of poor and destitute people in the community. You may have seen them seeking shelter at night on a pavement or begging for a few coins at traffic lights.

However, Dorcas Aid Relief and Development has been working hard to alleviate those people’s plight, such as by starting a soup kitchen. Since returning almost two months ago, the organisations’ soup kitchen has been feeding more and more community members. In February just under 25 people lined up for soup and bread, but now their number have grown to almost 100. What started as a twice-a-week project has seen the need to provide soup and bread more often.

However, this undertaking still needs the community’s help as the organisation tries its hardest to assist those in need.
