Power vocalist Sipokazi Nxumalo will be recording her debut solo DVD project live at the Roodepoort Theatre later this month.
Sipokazi’s journey started as a lead singer/ narrator for the two times Grammy-nominated Soweto Gospel Choir. During this period she graced some of the world’s famous performing platforms such as Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. Since then she has established herself as one of the premier gospel artists in South Africa, which is evident by the countless collaboration projects she has completed with some of the luminaries in the gospel fraternity, both locally and internationally. Sipokazi’s vocal versatility knows no bounds as she effortlessly navigates through a range of gospel genres.
On 23 April 2017, she will be taking her audience on a musical experience that will showcase her musical range, from IsiXhosa tracks to modern contemporary urban favourites. Special guest appearances on the night will include Xolani Mdlalose who is the co-host of Destiny and a former member of Joyous Celebration, saxophonist Ayo Solanke, and Nomakhuze Ndabula from Spirit of Praise.
The show starts at 5pm, but the doors open at 4pm.
