Pikitup’s Easter holiday schedule

Pikitup officials will be hard at work during the holidays

Residents from Roodepoort and surrounding areas do not have to worry about their bins not being collected by Pikitup during the Easter holidays.

Officials of the City of Johannesburg’s (CoJ) waste management entity, Pikitup, will be hard at work during the holiday period. There will be waste collection on all of the upcoming public holidays including 14 April (Good Friday), Easter Monday (17 April), Freedom Day (27 April) as well as on Worker’s Day (1 May).

Residents whose collection dates fall on any of these holidays are assured that waste collections will take place. In addition, street cleaning activities will be done in the inner city, portions of the outer city and in Alexandra.

All of Pikitup’s garden sites will also be operational and officials will be available until 12 noon. However, the sites will only close at 5pm. Collection of recyclable materials will take place only in scheduled areas, but there will be no bulky waste collections. All landfill sites will be operating as well.
