More than 200 archers will be descending upon the Inyala Archery Club at Laerskool Dr Havinga this weekend. The archers will be competing in the provincial schools tournament, featuring school teams from all over the province.
This will be the first time the club hosts a competition and their ace, Magdel Wilhelm, will be champing at the bit to take advantage of home support and excel at the competition. Last season, she qualified to represent the senior Gauteng provincial team while still being a junior, helping her team win a bronze medal at the Archery National. She is the fifth-ranked junior in the country, and ranked 10th overall.
The club is still looking for talented young archers to train, especially girls from Grades 3 to 12. For more information, contact 082 712 5744.
