Special operation: 81 arrested
Arrests made during stop-and-search operations.
Roodepoort Police are not letting up in their fight against crime.
During a joint operation by the police and other law-enforcement agencies this past weekend, 81 suspects were arrested for a variety of crimes.
The crimes included theft, possession of dagga, malicious damage to property, common assault, possession of drugs, contravention of Liquor Act, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle, shoplifting, armed robbery, possession of suspected stolen property, assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), crossing the railway line, drunken driving and drinking in public.
The suspects’ ages ranged from 17 to 63. They were detained at Roodepoort Police Station.
