Busy weekend for Roodepoort Police

Illegal immigrants also arrested.

The Roodepoort Police made a whopping 81 arrests during an operation they conducted over the weekend of 28 and 29 January.

They conducted the operation in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies such as the Metro Police. The suspects were arrested for the following crimes: house-breaking, theft, possession of dagga, malicious damage to property, common assault, possession of drugs, fraud, possession of car theft implements, contempt of court, corruption, attempted murder, possession of suspected stolen property, assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm, being an illegal immigrant, drunken driving and drinking in public.

The suspects, aged 19 to 63, were all detained at the Roodepoort Police Station.
