Little Courageous Kidz (LCK) Nursery School in Florida hosted their annual concert and graduation ceremony in Florida Primary School’s hall recently. Some of the graduates looked a bit nervous for the big event, but most of them had big smiles on their faces and were quite confident about going to “big school” next year.

Mischel Chetty, the owner and principal of LCK, was very excited and thankful to host this big event. “We have about 70 children in our nursery school and today, 30 of them will be graduating and moving on to Grade one,” she said excitedly.

The big event started of with the Grade R graduates – accompanied by their very emotional mothers – walking down the hall to the stage. Once everyone was on the stage, the handing out of their certificates and awards commenced. Once this was done, the children entertained everyone present with a lovely concert.

According to Mischel, the nursery school has applied for and been granted, registration to start a primary school in 2017. “This means that some of the children graduating today will stay with us for Grade one next year, while some will be coming to Florida Primary,” said Mischel.

Mischel is very passionate about education and helping the community. “We believe in empowering children by giving them the opportunity to be educated. That is why we also sponsor some of our less fortunate children to come to the school free of charge,” she said.
