Alleged killer domestic caught in Roodepoort

Suspect could not flee country.

The suspected murderer of Wilma van Tonder, 42, has been arrested in Florida Lake this past Sunday.

Van Tonder was murdered in front of her two children, respectively four and nine years old, at her house in Lonehill on 12 October. She allegedly was stabbed repeatedly by her domestic worker who has been working for the family for three months. The two children sat with her body for hours before they were discovered by a community member.

According to a member of the police it took exceptional and intensive detective work to catch the suspect, a Zimbabwean, who could not flee the country due to all border posts having been notified to be on the lookout for her.

The suspect will appear in court soon.
