Christmas cakes for a good cause

Have your cake - and eat it too! All for a good cause.

It’s that time of the year again and helping those less fortunate than ourselves has never been so delicious.

The Lions Club of Wilro Park is once again selling their Christmas Cakes in attempt to spread some Christmas cheer and joy. A new and improved recipe has been used for this year’s cakes. “You can be assured that the cakes taste delicious – it has been tried and tested!” said Sandy van Heerden, the Public Relations Officer for the club.

All profits made from the sale of the Christmas cakes will be going towards the various worthwhile service projects undertaken by the Wilro Park Lions Club. The Guide Dogs for the Blind is one project that is close to this club’s heart, and has been supported by the previous sales of these cakes. To date, six guide dogs have been sponsored by the Wilro Park club. This year’s profits from sales of the Christmas cakes will once again be used to assist in giving the gift of sight.

For more information and to order a cake (or two), contact Amanda at the Wilro Park Club on 082 567 2913.

Sandy concluded, “We appreciate the support of everyone to help us to help others.”
