Residents and community members are invited to assist with the clean-up of the Hamerkop Bird Sanctuary, located at the corner of Riethaan Street and Westlake Avenue, Florida Lake.
The clean-up will take place over two days – 12 and 13 November – from 9am to 3pm.
Entry fee is a bag of ready-mix concrete, or a pick and shovel, and you are welcome to bring something to eat and drink. People who have chainsaws are also welcome to bring them along. If possible, bring some extra for those who might not have any. Bags and waste bins will be provided.
This will be an opportunity for the community to view the plans for the sanctuary as well as to sign up for any projects.
