Caxton Local Newspapers is looking for trainee multi-media journalists to join the 2017 Caxton Editorial Cadet School’s one-year training programme, with a possible second-year learnership extension.

Applicants who meet the criteria will be invited for interviews.

All potential candidates will have to show evidence of the following:

· National Senior Certificate with English passed;

· a few years’ work experience;

· strong written and oral communication skills;

· a keen interest in news, current affairs, people and business;

· accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation;

· social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and/ or own blog) activity;

· an ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines;

· computer proficiency;

· an ability to grasp complex issues quickly and explain them in simple, concise language;

· an ability to put awkward or unwanted questions to people who do not wish to answer;

· willingness to work long irregular hours and

· residence in the operational area of this newspaper.
