No water due to power outage
Residents will have no water until power restored
Residents of Constantia Kloof and surrounding areas not only will have to contend with power outages today (23 September) but also face a water-supply interruption.
According to Eleanor Mavimbela, spokesperson for Johannesburg Water the power failure is affecting water towers in Wilro Park and Florida as the pumps will only start running again once power is restored. Power outages are being experienced in Helderkruin, Roodekrans, Constantia Kloof, Weltevreden Park, Wilro Park and surrounding areas.
This situation also affects Florida and surrounding areas.
Johannesburg Water’s Twitter account posted the following tweets to advise customers on the situation.
Ward 70 councillor, Caleb Finn says, “A generator has now been deployed to the water tower and water will begin pumping soon, it will take a while for the water pipes to fill up.
The generator will be in place until such time as the power supply from Kloofendal is restored.”
