Son shoots father dead

Details still sketchy.

Although details are still sketchy, Honeydew Police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan confirmed that a man was shot dead by his son this past Saturday afternoon (17 September).

The son, according to a source close to the family, is in his early 20s. A family member told the Record the incident is “a mystery since the family was extremely close. What happened that afternoon we will probably never know”. The source also alleged that 14 rounds were fired but that only four hit the father. All Muthan was willing to confirm though is the fact that the father succumbed to the gun shot wounds and that they are currently waiting for the report from the morgue.

The son has been arrested on a charge of murder and will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court today.
