Listen to your favourite radio station on #NationalRadioDay

Turn up the volume and listen to your favourite tunes on the radio, because today is National Radio Day!

The great invention of the radio is celebrated annually on 20 August.

The possibility of wireless communication became clear in the late 19th century.

Several inventors played a part in the invention of the radio and the credit for it’s beginning cannot be given to just one person.

A number of different inventions and discoveries were required to make the radio a reality. This included both transmission and reception methods as well as technology.

The first airing of programs by broadcast stations was in the 1920’s and consisted mainly of news and world events.

in 1931 radio ownership was two out of five homes which grew to four out of five homes in 1938.

To celebrate National Radio Day listen to your favourite radio station. Give your local radio personalities some special recognition by listening to their radio shows.
