Horizon View Primary School’s cross-country runners are hard at work preparing for the forthcoming Relay Championships. The competition, which will be held at Weltevreden Park Primary School, will see various school teams taking each other on in a cross-country relay.
Horizon View Primary’s sports co-ordinator, Jamie Angelo, said his team is strong and confident that they will fare well at the competition.
“I would like each individual runner to return home with a gold medal and assert themselves. They have the ability to make it into the district and be successful,” said Jamie.
Athletes from U/8 to U/13 were chosen earlier this week during an Inter-house competition at the school. Only first place finishers were chosen to represent the school.
“We’ve had cross-country camps to help the pupils be fit and ready for the season. We want to continue exposing our pupils to as large of a variety of sporting codes as possible,” he said.
