In May this year, Westview Clinic initiated a programme for nyaope patients. They are also in the process of establishing an aftercare treatment programme to further enhance a drug-free lifestyle.
Every month they admit five nyaope users who undergo a 21-day detox.
“Our main objective with the Nyaope programme is to attempt to address and hopefully make a difference in our surrounding communities where the epidemic is ever-increasing. Potential patients undergo a screening process and strong emphasis is placed on developing life skills and adopting a healthier lifestyle through sport,” said spokesperson Anthea Barriel.
Individual, group as well as family therapy also form part of the treatment programme.
