Model keeps her word

Model donates to the needy.

Witpoortjie model Naydene Tshepe honoured her vow to help her community. She recently donated toys and clothing to the Thusanang Pre-School and to residents of Mhlangeni Plot 8.

“I had clothing at home that I wasn’t wearing anymore. It made me feel guilty as there are people out there who need them. That is where the idea of asking for help from my family and community to donate something came from. Everyone was more than willing to help,” said Naydene.

This cause is close to Naydene’s heart as she herself grew up struggling, raised in a single-parent household along with her elder sisters.

“I want to help those in circumstances similar to mine when growing up. I want to be there for them in any way I can because nobody was there for my family and I. If I can be of help to them then I would have made a difference in their lives,” she said.

The model, who will be going to New York and Orlando later this month also wanted to encourage young children to focus on their education.

“Education is the key to their future and without it life is difficult. It opens many opportunities to better oneself and be able to help the community they come from,” said Naydene.
