Help the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation

Play your part this Mandela Day

Stuck for something to do this Mandela Day? Well, here’s an idea.

The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation Gauteng, which has premises on Ontdekkers Road, Florida Park, is progressively adapting those premises to meet organisational needs. And it needs your help.

The Foundation assists both its members who have muscular dystrophy and their families. They do so by:

– providing valuable information on muscular dystrophy

– making referrals to genetic counselling and other clinics

– providing special equipment such as specialised wheelchairs, bath equipment and ventilators

– offering emotional and group support

The Foundation is responsible for raising its own funds and is therefore reliant on the support and goodwill of the community.

They need:

– suitable flowers and plants to make the garden more appealing, reflecting the positive outlook the Foundation aims to inspire in those who need support

– paint for the building’s gutters, and the inside and outside walls

– volunteers to assist with the painting

You can contact the Foundation by calling 011 472 9824 or sending an email to gauteng@mdsa.org.za if you can assist in any way.
