Power out in Roodepoort

Power outage in Roodepoort

City Power technicians are hard at work restoring power in parts of Roodepoort. The power outage was caused by a faulty feeder cable and the theft of two feeder cables. This incident occurred at about 2am this morning, at Sentraal Substation near Florida Lake.

Areas such as Florida, Fleurhof, Georginia, parts of Discovery, and Manufacta have been heavily affected by the power outage.

City Power’s George Makama and his technicians are currently on-site and are working to replace the stolen cables.

“We are on scene right now, and working hard to restore the power by day’s end. We ask the community to be patient with us while we deal with this issue,” he said.
