Top stars for Western Rackets exhibition

Top South African players heading to Discovery

It will be a titanic battle when two of South Africa’s top squash players face off next weekend (25 June).

The country’s number one men’s squash player Steve Coppinger will take on the country’s number two player Shaun Le Roux. At an exhibition match that will be hosted by the Western Rackets Squash Centre in Discovery, the two men will compete in an hour long match.

Coppinger is a seven time South African champion and has a world ranking of 14. Le Roux is no slouch either with a world ranking of 37 and 11 PSA (Professional Squash Association) titles to his name.

Their match will be preceded by an exhibition match between Siyoli Waters, who have a world ranking of 28 and Alex Fuller who is ranked 68th in the world.

For only R100 per person, squash fans will be treated to a full itinerary by the club. The day will start off with a development clinic which will be followed by coaching from top professional players for the juniors and club members. Top club players will get a chance to play a few games with the events sponsors and patrons. The games will be followed by the exhibition matches, and the day will then end off with a presentation from the players about their experiences on tour and the state of the current game.
