Woman survives hijacking

"Shut up, and don't talk," said hijacker.

A resident was hijacked in the driveway of her property in Kemphaan Street at about 8.30pm last night (25 May).

Five males in a black Golf 6 stopped behind her and got into her vehicle. They told her to “shut up and keep quiet” before driving off with her in her silver BMW.

Florida Sector 2 CPF was alerted of the incident on their WhatsApp group and the patrol team on duty was dispatched immediately. When the team arrived on the scene and heard the woman had been taken with the vehicle, they called the CPF trauma counselling team to assist the family.

CPF, Apcan Security and Florida Police members started a track-and-trace operation along some back roads through Fleurhof to Meadowlands. Another source then informed the CPF that the woman had been dropped off in Meredale and 30 minutes after she was hijacked they found her.

She was unharmed and reunited with her family.

The CPF chairperson complimented the police on their swift reaction time.
