Thelma shines on the court

Thelma Ngcake makes it inot Gauteng team

Thelma Ngcake made Hoërskool Bastion proud as she made it into the U/15 Gauteng netball team.

The grade 9 pupil had to work extremely hard to make sure her talent shined.

She had to impress the selectors from the District 2 trials before going onto excel at the Gauteng Preliminary trials.

She then had to do it all again when she participated in the Gauteng final trials trials.

Here, athletes from all over the province participated in order to show off their talent and be chosen to be part of the Gauteng team.

“I have been playing netball my whole life. My interest in the sport started when my friends got me to play it and I’ve been a netball player since,” said Thelma.

The Bastion pupil who plays Goal Attack said she has big visions for herself in Netball and will work hard to make them a reality.

“Neball is a funs port and I would love to represent my country at an international level before becoming a coach but first I have to finish school,” she said.
